[li]Your posts must be at least 100 words. Don’t tell me that this is hard-Half of these rules of at least 100 words, and it’s just about impossible to reply to anything under 50 words. Yeah, I’m pushing you. Are you complaining? For your sake, let us hope not. Posts will be checked.
[/li][li]Keep it PG 13, please. First and foremost, no sexual content. It can be implied, but definitely not RPed or discussed in detail.
[/li][li]Similarly, try to keep the swearing minimal. You can have them here and there, just not a whole string of them.
[/li][li]No god-moding or auto-hitting. These two are related, because you can use one of them to take advantage of the other. Auto-hitting is dealing damage to an opponent without giving them a chance to reply. We all know how annoying this is, so don't do it!
[/li][li]God-moding is when your character seems invincible. Always succeeds, can dodge anything...Like I said, don't take advantage of the auto-hitting rule. Just because they didn't say if it hurt your character or not doesn't mean you can go dodging every single one.
[/li][li]Absolutely no chat-speak in the role-play threads. If I see any posts with "he tried 2 run b4 the monster could atk him..." I just might...Well, let's not get into that.
[/li][li]Unless it is absolutely necessary, no pure OOC(Out of character) posts in the IC boards.
[/li][li]No power-playing. This means deciding what someone else’s character says and does without permission. I don't know about you, but I'm never exactly pleased when I'm forced to answer a post ending with "He heard a twig snap and turned to see another student glaring at him."
[/li][li]This is the most important thing in the rules, and if I see any of it, I will be very, very mad. Punctuation. Please, please, please use it! This means either . ? or ! at the end of your sentences, capital letters wherever they are needed, and commas and apostrophes where it is necessary! Another huge one; Quotation marks. "These" or 'these' should be used whenever anyone is talking. I will not accept bolded font or different colored font. When I say use quotation marks, I mean use quotation marks, no exceptions! Thoughts should be italicized or bolded.
[/li][li]Grammar and spelling. I hope that if you are role-playing here, you have at least average spelling and grammar. If not, then without exception-Spell check. Even if you do, I highly recommend it. Typos seem to be fairly common these days, and everybody makes mistakes. Therefore, the choices are either review your post(Only if you know you don’t need spell check to help you with spelling) or use spell check. If I notice any posts that are particularly bad, I’m likely to send you a PM asking about it. Don’t worry, I don’t expect bios and posts to be perfect, but they have to be legible.
[/li][li]Role-play posts must be in the past tense. Third person is preferred, but if you wish you may RP in first. It's one or the other though. Either all your characters are in first person or all your characters are in third. You can't switch with each character.
[/li][li]Religion may be mentioned in RP, but only your character’s opinion, not yours, and though it may be mentioned, arguments are not allowed over it. If it gets to this point, chances are the two or more people in the argument are merely speaking through their characters, which won’t work at all.
2. Characters
[/li][li]It's easiest to make your character names actual human names, but if you wish, you may make up names. Just be advised, more often than not made up names sound incredibly stupid. Another thing that won't work is naming a character after an object. Honestly people, no one wants to be talking to a boy named "Cute" or a teacher called "Mr. Lit Candle". This is just ridiculous!
[/li][li]Make sure to read the plot info before creating a character. This contains all the information about what werewolves can and can't do and exactly what's going on around the school and forest. Also make sure to read the pack, ranking and classes info. I don't want to see anyone making a bio with a character that's mortal enemies with vampires and can heal twice as fast as humans.
[/li][li]Please, sob stories are cliché and really annoying. It's not very realistic to have a whole pack full of orphaned children who've watched their sister commit suicide and their best friend drown in a lake. I know it seems like tragedy makes the history more interesting, but there is such thing as going overboard! If you must put calamity in your bio, keep it real.
[/li][li]There is no character limit, however, you must keep all your charries active. If you do not want the character anymore, either PM me to delete it or put it up for adoption. Don't just leave them lying around in the back of a dusty old attic, poor things.
[/li][li]Yes, I understand that there are battles, and with battles come injuries, but if you are planning on doing something serious to someone else’s character, ask first! Killing without the owner of the character’s consent is out of the question, and anything that will leave a permanent mark(Scar, limp, torn ear, etc) must have permission to be dealt. Injuries that will last several months, such as broken bones or deep wounds must also have permission. If a character is killed, the owner of the character must PM me this form, and the character will be removed from the lists. If he/she had family, close friends or a mate, it’s your job to make sure they know.
[/li][li]There is no limit to high positions that one person is allowed, however it is unlikely that you will end up with more than one, as I will take it into consideration when choosing them who already has one.
3. Out Of Character
I’ll keep this short and sweet. I’m going to give a list of thing not to do and a definition of each, no comments. Get it, got it, good.
[/li][li]Spamming: SPAM-Stupid Pointless Annoying Messages. This is the overall worst one, and most of the others are based on this. I think it's fairly self-explanatory. Spamming is things like posting saying “I like blue” in a thread about how someone’s dog died. It’s things that are, well, pointless. That don’t follow the topic of the thread at all, and that frankly no one cares about. It includes, but is not limited to: Flooding, double posting, advertising, and chat threads.
[/li][li]Advertising: There is a board for this. Please, don’t advertise in the C-box, role-play or OOC boards. This includes posting links to your site. Even if you are just asking the people you are talking to to tell you what they think, or asking a friend on the c-box to help you out with a code. It can be sent by PM, of course, but putting the links out and asking for help is just another subtle form of advertising.
[/li][li]Chat threads: I mentioned these in the spam section, but to explain...Chat threads are threads that have no point and usually don't get very far. Their message is generally something along the lines of "Hi guys do you want to talk?". This isn't allowed, however, they simply need a topic. Instead of the first one, something like "Hi guys...I've had the worst day! My boyfriend broke up with me! Has that ever happened to any of you?" will suffice.
[/li][li]Religion: It's simple. No talk of religion in OOC, at all. We don't want to offend anyone, now do we?
[/li][li]Plagiarism: This means taking credit for someone else's work. People should be allowed to post their stories, poems, drawings, etc, without having to worry about it getting stolen. If I see any of this, you are immediately banned, no warning, forever. I have no tolerance for this.
[/li][li]Swearing: I won't completely rule it out, as most of us are teenagers here and I can't hope to stop people our age using such...erm, colorful language. However, keep in mind that there may be younger people on this site, and like in RP, I don't want a whole string of them, especially not some of the worse ones. Use common sense, guys.
4. Miscellaneous
[/li][li]Just because something isn't on this list doesn't mean you won't be punished for it. Stop and think for a second. There are going to be consequences for things like hacking causing serious fights, of course! Don't expect it'll get you out of trouble just because it was on here.
[/li][li]I’m not sure how active this site will be, or if it’ll be active at all, so rules may change accordingly to that. I won’t change the code word if I change them for that, seeing as it won’t be particularly important.
[/li][li]To add to that, rules may change at any time. To ensure that people are reading the rules when they change, and reminding themselves of the one they’ve already read, there is a code word or phrase, which must be used whenever you do something important. The current code word/phrase is “Panic! At The Disco”. (Just because that’s what I’m listening to at the moment xD) If it has changed, then you know the rules have as well, and it would be best to look over them and see what this is. Depending on the new rule, it may be highlighted in a different color or posted in a new post, or you may have to read through all of the rules to find it. It will be posted in the forms when it is needed, such as in mate match, character creation, death notification, etc.
[/li][li]When a staff member tells you to do something, you do it, no arguments. Obviously, the request must be reasonable, but anything short of "Go kill yourself" is probably for a good reason. If you have a problem with something one of them has said, PM me about it before taking it out on them. It's quite possible the request came from me in the first place, anyways.
